Want to learn about private Muay Thai classes in Thailand. Read on 🙂
My adventure on Soi Taied continues as I continue to wake up at 6.30 am and prepare for my first Muay Thai class for the day, the Intermediate 8.00 until 10.00 class.
In addition to these 2-hour group classes, there are occasions where I would also muster up the guts to schedule a private one-on-one private Muay Thai class with one of the trainers from Tiger Muay Thai on Soi Taied.
It’s hot. It’s humid. And you’re training in a giant open air shed with a tin roof. When it rains, it pours. And it’s so loud it feels like you’ve just stepped into a night club at 2 am in the morning.
If you’d like to get a sense to what Soi Taied is all about and how you can meet people from all around the world wanting to lose a bit of weight. Watch some of my Soi Taied vlogs below 🙂

Private muay thai classes are the perfect solution to learning the proper techniques taught in the group classes. In the group classes, there could be up to 30 students and less than 10 trainers. So you could be doing the techniques wrong and not get corrected by any of the trainers.
And at only 700 Baht ($25 AUD) per 1 hour session, you’re probably getting the value of 3 group classes!
But, before you run ahead of me and start filling your training diary with private sessions. I need you to get one thing straight.
You need to spend 1–2 weeks doing the group Muay Thai classes on Soi Taied to build up your conditioning! This is important. I made this mistake. If you have just arrived on Soi Taied and are not really that well trained with your cardio, you will waste the private classes.
Personally, after having done less than 3 group classes. I found myself burnt out after 30 minutes in a private Muay Thai session. I just got smashed!! I ended up wasting half of the private classes so I could catch my breath.
So to make the most of your privates, make sure you have built up *some* level of conditioning.
Another thing I want to mention is that you can pick the trainer from the many that are contracted by Tiger Muay Thai. So what I also suggest is do a few group Muay Thai classes first so that you can see which trainers you connect best with during the class, then book your private classes with that trainer! It’s that easy 🙂
